In computing, DOC or doc (an abbreviation of "document") is a filename extension for word processing documents, most commonly in the proprietary Microsoft Word Binary File Format.

A DOCM file is a document created by Microsoft Word, a popular word processor included with Microsoft Office. It contains embedded macros that can be executed within the document. DOCM files are used to automate Word Open XML document (.DOCX) tasks by adding advanced macro functionality.

DOCX files are Microsoft Word documents commonly used to author business, academic, and personal documents. These files can contain a variety of document content, including text, images, shapes, styles, and page formatting.

A .PPT file is an editable slide show created by Microsoft PowerPoint or another presentation program, such as OpenOffice Impress or Apple Keynote. PPT files are used for creating presentations in the home and business environments.
